Funerals

The Pastors at Grace Bible Church, as they are available, are honored to minister to families during their times of grief and loss, whether the services are held at Grace Bible Church or at the funeral home and/or cemetery. It is our desire to make the funeral as personal and as meaningful to the families as possible with a service that remembers the one who has passed away as well as graciously sharing Christ with those in attendance. Military honors for veterans are welcomed but we do not allow Masonic rituals to be performed. Arrangements should also be made with the funeral home.

Hospital Visits

Both our Pastors and our Deacons are available to visit those who are ill in the hospital or other medical facilities. Please contact one of the Pastors and/or the church office when you or a loved one goes to the hospital. It is very important to remember that the hospital or medical facility will not contact the church to inform us that you are a patient, so you must let us know so we can follow up. Church members and regular attendees are also encouraged to contact the church office and request that your need be made known through the church email and phone prayer chains so you can be prayed for during your time of need. If for some reason you prefer not to be visited in the hospital but still desire prayer, please let us know that as well and your request not to be visited will be honored.

Baptism

We believe that baptism is an outward public expression of the inward decision to accept Jesus Christ as personal savior. The scriptures are clear that everyone who becomes a believer should make this public confession of faith. We have the baptism service in one of our morning services several times a year. Before being immersed each person is encouraged to share how they became a believer in Christ. Contact one of the pastors if you wish to be baptized.

Communion

Usually on the first Sunday of the month in our morning Worship Service we have a special time of remembrance of Christ and His suffering and death for our sins. It is also a time for personal examination of our spiritual state as we partake together of the bread and the cup of Communion. Communion at Grace Bible Church is not limited to our church members; if a person knows Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior they are invited to share this with us. Parents are also encouraged to decide prayerfully when they believe their children are ready to participate in Communion. This should come after they have placed their faith in Christ and understand why we take Communion. Communion is also held at other times such as on special days like Good Friday.

Child Dedication

We are delighted to dedicate babies and children to the Lord. Parents should contact one of the pastors about their desire for this dedication. This special service of pastoral and Scriptural reflection coupled with a prayer of dedication and parental and congregational commitment is held during a morning worship service. We do not practice infant baptism and we believe that while the dedication of children and their parents to God is very significant, it does not make them children of God. We believe that is a faith decision in Christ that the children themselves must someday make. It is to that end and for their spiritual growth that the parents and church prayerfully commit themselves.

Counseling

The pastors at Grace Bible Church welcome you to come to them with any personal concerns or struggles that you are having in your life. While we do not pretend to be professional counselors, we know that many issues that we all face can be addressed from God’s Word. If a person has complicated issues, we are happy to refer you to a professional Christian counselor in the area. The pastors do insist on taking any couple that plans to get married at Grace Bible Church through a number of pre-marital counseling sessions.
