What We Believe
We believe the Bible was given by inspiration of God. All of Scripture, from first to last, centers in our Lord Jesus Christ, both in His person and work.
We believe the Godhead eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one.
We believe man was originally created in the image of God, but because of his disobedience, fell from his original state of innocence and lost all spiritual life.
We believe his spiritual death has been transmitted to the entire human race and therefore
all are born with a sin nature and incapable of fulfilling God's law. We further believe that
owing to this universal depravity and death in sin, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless born again.
We believe mankind's redemption was accomplished solely by the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died in our place on the cross of Calvary. No repentance, no feeling, no faith, no good resolutions, no sincere effort, can add in the very least to merit of His finished work on the cross. This saving work of Christ can be made effective only by grace through faith.
We believe it is the privilege of all who are born again by the Spirit through faith in
Christ to be assured of their salvation from the very day they take Him to be their Savior.
We believe the Church is composed of all who are born again and united to the risen and
ascended Son of God.
We believe the Christian is called to be in subjection to Christ, thus enabling him/her to
live a life apart from fleshly or worldly desires.
We believe the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ will return to the earth a second time to set
up and establish His kingdom forever. Prior to this great event He will return in the air to rapture all who have received Him as Lord and Savior.
We believe the saved at the moment of death enter into the presence of the Lord to enjoy eternal
blessings of heaven, while the unsaved will await the final judgment at which time will be condemned
to an eternal hell prepared for the devil and his angels.
Salvation through Christ: Since the redemption of mankind was accomplished solely by the
shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made sin for us, He is the only way to God. No repentance,
no feeling, no faith, no good resolutions, no sincere efforts, no submission to the rules and
regulations of any church, or of all the churches that have existed since the days of the apostles,
can add in the very least to the value of that precious blood. The Bible makes it clear that we are
not saved by works of righteousness but only by the redmptive work of Jesus on the cross. Lev. 17:11;
Matt. 26:28; Rom. 5:6-9; II Cor. 3:13; Eph. 1:17; I Pet. 1:18,19; Jn 14:6.
The End Times: According to the Word of God, the next great event in the fulfillment of
prophecy will be the coming of Christ into the air. He is coming to receive to Himself both His own
who are alive and remain unto His coming, and also all who have fallen asleep in Jesus, and that
this event is the Blessed Hope, set before us in the gospel. We believe next that the taking away
of the saved ones will be followed by the Great Tribulation in the earth, which was predicted by
our Lord, and that finally He will bring to an end that time of judgment for the whole earth by His
own glorious appearing. Phil. 3:20; Jn. 14:1-3; I Cor. 15:51,52; I Thes. 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-14;
Matt. 24:42-46; 24:29-31.
The world will not be converted previous to the second coming of Christ, but is day by day ripening
for judgment. This present dispensation will end with a fearful apostasy in the professing church.
Following the period of Great Tribulation in the earth the Lord Jesus Christ will return as He went
in person, on the clouds of heaven, and with power and great glory - to introduce the millennial
age. Israel will be restored to her own land, and will realize the fulfillment of God's covenant
promises. Satan will be bound and cast into the abyss. At this time the earth will be filled with
the knowledge of God, and God will lift the curse the curse which now rests upon the whole creation.
Matt. 24:15-25; II Tim. 3:1-5; 4:1-3; Acts 15:15-17; Ezek. 37:21-28; Rom. 11:25-27; Rev.
20:1-3; Isa. 11:1-9
The State of the Dead: The Bible teaches that at death the spirits and souls of those who have
trusted Jesus Christ for salvation pass immediately into His presence. There they remain in conscious
bliss until the resurrection of the glorified body, when Christ comes for His own, whereupon soul and
body, reunited, shall be associated with Him forever in glory. The spirits and souls of the unbelieving
remain after death, conscious of condemnation, in misery until the final judgment of the Great White
Throne at the close of the millennium. Then soul and body, reunited, shall be cast into the lake of
fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the
Lord, and from the glory of His power. Luke 23:43; II Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23; II Thes. 1:7-9;
Jude 6,7; Rev. 20:11-15
